How to Update JixiPix Applications

This page will go over the different ways to update your JixiPix apps across all platforms.

Update Apps Purchased on JixiPix.com

To download an update for Mac and Windows apps purchased on jixipix.com go to the Downloads page here and click Download Mac or Download Windows next to the application you wish to update and the download will begin.

Windows

On a Windows computer once the download is complete the installer will appear in your Downloads folder. Open your Downloads folder and locate the app's installer and double click to open it.

Professional Software

For apps in the Professional section click Next and choose to install the app as a plugin or to only install the standalone application. Then click Next a couple more times and click Install and the update will begin, once complete click Finish. (To install the plugin in another program run the installer again.)

Hobbyist and Enthusiast Apps

For apps located in the Hobbyist and Enthusiast section click Next and choose the installed apps location and click Next a couple times then click Install to begin the update, once installed click Finish.

Mac

On a Mac once the download is complete the Disk image will appear in your Downloads folder (Open Finder and click Go in the top left corner of your screen and select Downloads). Locate the app's Disk image and double click it.

Professional Software

For apps in the Professional section a window will appear with the installer in it, double click the installer. Once opened click Continue twice and then you can choose to also install the app as a plugin or to only install the standalone application. Click Continue and the update will begin, once complete click Finish. (To install the plugin in another program run the installer again.)

Hobbyist and Enthusiast Apps

For apps located in the Hobbyist and Enthusiast section a window will appear with the app in it, click on the app and drag it to the Applications folder and select Replace to update the app. (Make sure the app is closed before replacing.)

Update Apps Purchased on the Mac App Store

To update Mac App Store apps open the Mac App Store and select Updates at the top of the app. Here you will see a list of all the apps that have updates available, click Update next to the app or Update All and the update will begin.

Update iOS Apps on the App Store

To update an app on iPhone or iPad open the App Store on your device and select Updates. Here you will find a list of all your apps that can be updated, click Update All or Update next to the app and the update will begin.

Update Android Apps purchased on the Google Play Store

To update an app on an Android device open the Play Store app and click the icon in the top left corner of the app then select My apps & Games.

Under Installed you will find a list of all the apps installed on your device. Click the app you wish to update and select Update. (Some devices will include an Update All option to update all apps at once or an Auto-update apps option which will update your apps automatically over wifi.)
